Demna Gvasalia helms this design collective—all of whom have worked at Maison Margiela at one point or another—founded in 2009 to disrupt tried-and-true wardrobe basics. Whether it’s blowing up proportions on an Alpha Industries bomber or meticulously splicing classic Levi’s jeans, Vetements defamiliarizes classic silhouettes and familiar brand names. Highly collaborative by nature, Vetements has made its name teaming up with longstanding labels to create something entirely unique and exciting.
