Founded in 1984 by Toshiyoko Hirata in Japan's denim capital, Kojima, the appropriately named label Kapital, now under the creative direction of Toshiyoko's son, Kiro, is recognized globally for its cutting-edge indigo-denim techniques and peculiar riffs on American workwear. This denim smock dress, inspired by the much-studied wardrobe of painter Georgia O'Keeffe, features delicate front-and-back pintucking, a round neck, front buttons, 3/4-length button sleeves, two side seam pockets, and a front-slit midi hem.
