Founded in 1984 by Toshiyoko Hirata in Japan's denim capital, Kojima, the appropriately named label Kapital, now under the creative direction of Toshiyoko's son, Kiro, is recognized globally for its cutting-edge indigo-denim techniques and peculiar riffs on American workwear. This sleeveless, patchwork-denim-style maxi dress has a front-and-back V-neck, floral embroidery at one shoulder, and a pegged, lanternlike silhouette.
